On October 23, 2020 the Kaufman High School Cheerleaders donated over $600 to the local Kaufman County Children’s Shelter. These girls remarkably raised the money in two short days. Due to Covid 19 the cheerleaders were unable to visit the children at the shelter like they normally do for Halloween. Normally every Halloween the girls donate costumes, face paint, cookies, candy, pizza and drinks to the shelter. They also spend the afternoon delivering the goodies, dressing the children up in their costumes, painting faces, playing games and loving on these wonderful kids and staff. This event is the highlight of the girls’ year. These young ladies were not going to let Covid keep them from helping create a memorable Halloween for the children at the Kaufman County Children’s Shelter. I am super proud of the compassion and love of my cheerleaders. It was a great experience to watch their excitement as we kept raising money. Many of the girls used their very own funds to help support such a great event. I am so blessed to coach such incredible athletes and have the support of amazing parents. Proud to be a Kaufman Lion!
