Christmas In July Came Early

Christmas In July Came Early

On Saturday, June 10, 2023 the Shelter hosted approximately 150 Motorcycle riders with a Santa Claus.  This is the 18th year they have come with Donations for the Children.

It came early this year, in June, to avoid the Texas summer heat.

Nearly 100 bikers delivered toys and supplies for the event, starting in Royse City, then riding to Kaufman, followed by a truck from Whiskers for Wounded Warriors, which brought more supplies.

Participants donated $20 per person for games, food and drinks, with live music by Cody Cresswell. A silent auction also raised funds for the shelter.

Donations for children living at the shelter included pajamas and toys, along with home necessities such as detergent and dry goods. There were also gift certificates for children to attend local movie theaters.

Shelter staffers said they truly appreciated the generosity of the holidays for the children in June.
